WHY BUY HERBS FROM ME?

My herb journey started nearly ten years ago with tinkering around and experimenting on my own with occasional guidance from a class or workshop at local herb shops. Looking for ways to ease stress, support digestion, temper burn out, and improve nutrient absorption, I kitchen witched my way to a strong connection to plants and a precision for formulating quality herbal medicine. My herb teachers follow an ethos of vitalism, which is observing the body’s strength for finding health and balance, and utilizing the right relationship to plants and lifestyle in order to remove obstacles to healing.

I believe herbs are a tool that can work alongside allopathic medicine and use a harm reduction approach when supporting clients. When life’s current stressors are largely inflicted by capitalism, white supremacy, and climate catastrophe, my interest in empowering people to build a relationship with plants is not in a vacuum ignoring the realities of systemic oppression making us sick. We need antibiotics and vaccines and a referral to a physical therapist just as much as we need artichoke leaf and milky oats and motherwort.

I have completed two foundational and one advanced year long program and received feedback on my medicine making, formulations, and understanding of plant constituents effects on human anatomy and physiology. To read more about me and herbs you can go here.

All products are sourced as ethically as I know how in my current urban herbalist setting. I get fresh plants from Sonoma County Herb Exchange (and or farmers and growers in my area), dried plants from Mountain Rose Herb Co, occasionally harvest small amounts of wild, weedy, and abundant plants, and purchase simples from other trusted herbalists when I am short a few ounces to complete a formula. I prioritize cultivated and organic plant sources. I use high proof alcohol and distilled water and follow best practices specific to each plant to measure menstrums that best honor the plants gifts.
